I am a major fan of roadtrips.  Especially short ones that yield big results.  A week and a half ago I told my husband that I needed a roadtrip.  Didn’t really matter where but I needed a short trip to still my restless soul.  Casually Frankenmuth, Michigan came up.  He had never been and it had been well over twelve years since I had gone.  So this past Saturday morning we loaded up the car, grabbed my mom (who is a tremendous help in keeping E happy wherever we may go) and headed north on that three and half hour drive.  We stopped at Bronners to check out the world’s largest Christmas store.  I am a Christmas nut.  I love the season, especially the music. This place is indescribable.  Any type of ornament you have dreamed of is there.  After a “quick” stroll through the store we headed into downtown.  This place is known as Michigan’s little Bavaria.  It is slightly touristy, but in the best possible way.  This was a perfect trip (except for the parking-but that’s a whole other story) and made my weekend.  Hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend as well!!

Time in the Park

The other day we strapped E in to the Kelty and took a walk towards the local park.  I realize that we are far (at least one year) away from E being able to truly enjoy the park, but we figured we would try it out anyhow.  Swinging was fun.  For about four minutes.  Playing on the fire truck was fun.  For about five minutes.  It was, however, great to get out of the house, see a smile on my baby’s face, and enjoy an afternoon as a family.

I was in some desperate need of some nature.  I needed to smell, feel, and hear it.  Eric and I drove the long 9 minutes north to the Crooked Lake Nature Preserve.  It was exactly what the doctor (Dr. Me) called for.  It was E’s first trip in the Kelty and I am not sure what she thought.  She didn’t love it but she didn’t hate it.  I guess we will have to try it out again another time.

Hello!

Hello out there!  My name is Katie and this here is my new blog.  My old one wasn’t quite fitting to me anymore and I decided that it be time that I move on.  I am a mid-20s stay at home mom/college student to a beautiful little girl.  Elizabeth, or as we normally write just E, is 9 1/2 months old.  She is the cutest thing ever, if I do say so myself.

See, told you!  I also am a wife to the husband, Eric.  He works all the time, but we love him anyway!

That’s him the science thing on the front porch and carrying E to her first hockey game!!

Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee (or hot chocolate in my case) and stay awhile!!!  Until next time, adios!
